Days in Emerald

Having 2 busy week and that's why I haven't update for so long. Sorry everyone!

First talk about the hostel.
It's not really a big hostel, but it is crowed.
Here lives more than 50 people but the equipment here are really insufficient. 50 ppl share one kitchen, which contain 4 gas and 4 electronic furnace, 1 oven, 2 microwave, 1 rice cooker, 2 sink and 1 water tap. During peak hour, there will be more than 15 people cooking at the same time, horrible. I usually avoid the busiest time.
And for the toilet, in my case 16 people in one room shared 1 washroom! Yes!! We go to toilet and shower in the same washroom in the same moment, coz we start and stop working at the same time. You can imagine how busy it is.
There are TV room here, but I don't go there often.
For the bedroom, it's not as clean as the hostel in city because everyone come back with sand and mud, but actually we cant compare between them and most importantly I am OK with it.
There are free internet access here every night 7-9, which I didn't know until I arrive, NICE. This is a working hostel so Justin, the manager of this hostel, will find you a job. There are buses bring you to work and bring you back everyday, and also bus to supermarket at every 6pm. There are event on every week, last week is to watch sunset, but I didn't go because I'm in Uncle Thomas home, this week is FOOTBAAAAALLLL!!!! yeah! I miss it! I need to go to uncle Thomas home last night but I went there after the football game!! ho ho!! The charges here is $120 per week plus $6 transport every working day, so it's altogether $150 per week. A bit expensive when compare with other working hostel, but I think it's OK for me. I believe I'll stay till mid-Mar, Grand-Prix!!

Next talk about work.
Last week me and Michael worked at a flower-farm named "Not Just Flower". We've been working from Monday to Wednesday. 95% of time is to weeding, by hand! tough work and it really hurt my back. I woke up at 5am every morning, had my breakfast and get on a van which wait us at 6:15am outside the hostel. We started to work at 7am, a tea break at 10am, a lunch break at 12nn, another tea break at 3pm, then finish work at 4:30pm. Pay is not good, only $11 per hour without tax. But I have no choice because Justin assign one week work on every Sunday. I gotta work for the week and ask Justin to find us another job.
Suddenly on Wednesday, the farm owner said that Thursday and Friday was too hot for working, and told us not to go to work. Not a bad news because I can have a long weekend and my back can have a vacation! The farm owner paid my salary by cash~ wow~ Finally got some income, although it's not much. Michael left that night and go to another farm with his girlfriend. And I'm on my own.
This week I worked in a tree-farm, named J.F.T.. We have a team of 4, all from the hostel, and a supervisor, his name is Blue. Our job was to weeding and trimming, it's better than in "Not Just Flower" because we got tools this time, but it's still a tough work. We'll always need to squat because the plant is just knee high, so it still hurt my back. But the pay here is a lot better, $16.45 per hour before tax. I will have enough money for Grand-Prix and Melbourne local tour after few weeks~ yeah~! $$$$$$$
Moreover I've taken a interview for Store Manager last Saturday in BoxHill. The boss Mr. Wu is a nice guy, but my management skill were not satisfied for the job, so got to back to farm and work. Will keep trying on looking for some other office job.

Next talk about Uncle Thomas
After a short meet with Uncle Thomas on 6 Dec, I went to Uncle Thomas house in Boxhill with my sleeping bag last Thursday, and helped him to clear all the stuff in his house. There were so many many many many many many many many things in his house. A lot of books which could properly form a small library. A lot of drawing and writing which is over 60 years. A lot of Chinese medicinal materials which could make my grandma to laugh for few weeks. A lot of tissue which enough for 5 years use, and far more. I helped them on minor things such as adhesive the carton boxes and putting things in it, break confidential document to pieces, taking out things from drawer and cabinet els. We have lunch and dinner outside, I've also bought some milk for breakfast. It was a busy day.
On Friday, everyone of us are still busy on tidy things up. But I cant stay for another night so I went back to hostel. One of the advantage of this hostel, is that it's not really far from Boxhill, about 1.5 hours away. And it cost only $2.7 for a 2 hour ticket.
I returned on Saturday and helped again, not much to tell actually.
This Friday night I went there again and everything has been cleared already. I arrived at almost 12 at night because I played football and missed a bus. I finally tried BBQ Pork Rice at "Hung To", it was so great! and so expensive +_+ We chat for a while and sleep at 2am. This morning, we went out for breakfast at around 8am, but we found that most shop open at 9! We bought some pancake and soya-bean milk and eat at home. Uncle Leung came at around 9, he drive us to the storage area and put down some stuff. We then return to BoxHill and Uncle Leung was going to drive Uncle Thomas to airport. I was not going and it's the time to say Good Bye. They start leaving and we said Good Bye. Then they were gone. Feel a bit missing Uncle Thomas because he's the only relative in Australia. I tidy up my mind, and life went on.

Next talk about Bicycle.
Tracy was leaving this Sunday with her sister. As she had bought a bicycle for her work, she didn't need it anymore so she gave it to me last Sunday. The damn thing is bicycle was not allowed on bus, and I need to travel to Emerald by Bus. So I left my bike in Belgrave station last Sunday and travel back to hostel without it. Lucky it was still here yesterday night, and I brought it to Boxhill too. Today I planned to travel around with it but the damn rain screwed out my plan. So I locked it in Belgrave again and hope it will still there when I arrive next time.

Sorry for such a long post, and thanks for your patience. Things are going quite good and still as planned. hmm... tried to get a ipod shuffle today for listening music when I am working, $89, but finally didn't get it because I still have my mobile and bluetooth player. It's a time for saving money, not spending. hoho. The football match last night was great~ We played on messy grass court. The international team vs the Germany. It was damn fun! Finally result was something like 7:2, Germany win! The Grand-Prix ticket is a lot expensive then I thought, 4 days 4 different corner with seat cost $429. err.... Need to reconsider to take the one without seat with cost $175, but I guess it's going to be crowned.

Next time I'll tried to talk more about Australia instead of my life, coz my life not going to have a big change.

Good Luck mate!

Stable to unstable -> Moving to Emerald

Stable to unstable -> Moving to Emerald

After living in Uncle Thomas house for two weeks, learn how to cook and how to live without internet, it is the time to move on my journey. Live is going from stable to unstable again.

Emerald is a place which is full of flower farm. And there is a hostel, Emerald Backpackers, which helps backpacker to find a farm job. I called them on Friday and they said they can offer me a job if I can arrive on Sunday. And Sunday, is also the day which Uncle Thomas arrive Melbourne. Sorry Uncle Thomas I don't know you need a helping hand, I should postpone my journey but I have confirmed the manager of the hostel.

Anyway, Uncle Thomas arrived Boxhill at around 4 something. We have had a tea together with Uncle Leung and they talk a lot about their classmates, haha. The train to Emerald depart on 6:43pm so there's not much time to stay with Uncle Thomas :(

I met Michael, another WHV people, at Boxhill station and we traveled together to Emerald. Well, I am really considering about buying a luggage (口急), because my backpack is full of my normal daily use items, but there are no space for food and holding two bags is not a good idea. Well... Thinking.

We arrived the hostel in around 8pm, place of coz is quite dirty but it's acceptable. Dont have photo right now but will upload them in the next few days~ The first night there I dont have a good sleep. Actually I could just close my eyes and I am awake from 11pm to 5am. errrr....New place, need some time to get use to it. And the first day work is to a flower farm and the weed. I need to pull their whole weed up including the root, it's a tough job, and because I need to curve my waist, it's so tired after work. The pay is not good, not as good as the hostel guaranteed. I've talked to the manager and he said he will TRY to find me another AFTER this week. Well.. it's fine, so I gotta finish this week job first, earn my first money. :)

Sorry all, got to go. Just finished work and haven't bath and eat.
Will update you guys more later on.

See ya~

c: Will do~ :)

Raymond: Happy New Year too~ How's Braiform~? Saved a lot of money~? :p

oioi: Thanks~ hoho~ I don't know why I get darker. Yes, I'll miss the 鼻鼾聲.... Thanks Aunt Joyce~

maymei goo je : Really~? Want me to show you some muscle? haha~ Take Care too!

joe joe : Thanks man! and hope you too~

Welcome Year 2008!

Happy New Year everyone, have a good start of year 2008~?

Last Sunday I want to St. Kilda beach. The weather was great~ Shine but not hot. It's a good day for swimming but I didn't bring my swimming stuff... err.... anyway.
I went to the end of the pier and sit on a rock, looking at the ocean, and start thinking, "Man! It's damn great to be here!". I sit there for nearly an hour, thinking about my coming trip. Where am I going, what am I going to do, how am I going to survive. I started to think about my future, not the past. Well.....I love thinking... The brain is always here, why leave it unused? (That's may be the reason why I got so many white hair. haha)

The next day I called many WHV friends and count down together.
There were 2 section of firework, 9:30 for kids and 12:00 for adult, and both of them performed in two places, the Yarra River and the Dockland. We stay at Dockland as it is much less crowded.

The 9:30 firework...well... was really for kids. haha....No other comment.
And the one at 12:00, wow, it's great!
Although it's not as great as HK but because we were so close, the firework was just above our head! haha~

It's a great start of my year 2008!

Everyone, got to go coz library is closing.

I've got another place to go, it's Emerald.
The hostel their will find me a farm job and I'm gonna stay there for a while.
Will try to update as more as possible.

See you guys! Take care mate!

Photos Here! and Here!!

c : Well.... Thanks~!

maymei goo je : Sorry, I dont think the Kit kat here is as cheap as HK.... I'll double check tmr.

Raymond : Most cheapest one $25....errr damn expensive

Banana boy : I dont think so la...haha~ This is the hair stylist jel for me, I didn't jel my hair afterward...haha

oioi: Well, I just dont wanna clear the spider web on the other pot, so...... haha~ Thanks and Happy New Year too!

Mudfew: STFU man.,... haha~ ok~ I teach you for free, if you dare to eat what I cook.. XD Got it man, you need to do the same ah

2pm Make lunch
3pm Wash dishes, watch TV and 金庸
5pm Go out and hang around the market
7pm Make Dinner
8pm Watch TV and 金庸
11pm Wash dishes and bath
12am Watch TV and 金庸
2am Sleep

On last Thursday, I've met Katrina through Tracy, they met each other in Emerald. Katrina is from Taiwan and arrived here for 3 months. 3 of us have lunch together and then we walked around St. Patrick Church and the Fitzroy Garden. Both places are so beautiful!
They shared their experience in Emerald with me, and I'm really interested to have a trip to there. I think I'll move their after Uncle Thomas arrived Oz. By they way, Katrina speak so fast in mandarin and I could hardly listen.... +_+"

Still having fun on making my own meal. I don't have high standard of requirement on what I eat therefore I think it's not hard to cook. hoho.... Check out my photo to see what I have cooked. XD

Finished reading 天龍八部, not as good as I thought, too many coincidence.
But I cant stop when I start reading it. Power of 金庸 is invincible.

Well, it's Sunday today and I'm going to St. Kilda beach. For sure I'll take some photos for everyone to enjoy~

Good Luck and Take care!

Some Photo update! Click HERE!

c : Thanks... How come you leave a comment so fast~? haha

Raymond : Done~ Feel like didn't cut a lot but actually my head weight reduced by 3 pounds. haha

OiOi : Well... I didn't use the rice cooker... I use only one 煲 to cook everything.... haha Good idea~ Will try!

Joejoe : Thanks for your Happy Christmas! Merry New Year too!! XD

Mudfew : You come here and I'll teach you. AUD20 per hour... kaka

wfred : Thanks sister!~ Well the Chinese restaurant here doesn't really need man-power I guess. They just collect people's phone number in order to call them to work when those full-time on leave, so I don't put much hope here.

May Goo je : I'll pay attention on it~ What I have is time so I can check out every shop~ haha~ Wait for my update~

Christmas Day~

On Christmas Eve, I went to Gardiner and have dinner with JoJo, Cat and Janet.

We prepared a cake, a roasted chicken, a chicken cream soup, salad, some garlic bread and a bottle of red wine for our Christmas Dinner~
Everything taste great!
I really enjoy the moment! hohoho~
I called back to Hong Kong and said Merry Christmas to my family, feel so happy~!

Different from Hong Kong, shops in Oz usually close on Christmas Day. I woke up at around 11am on the Christmas Day, fill myself with some bread, hanging around and start feel boring. Well... It's time...to go for a walk... I locked the door, leave home with my slipper on, and start walking around.

No much people on the street~ Most shops closed~ Street was so silent~ Sky was so blue~ Weather was so cool...

I start to enjoy the life here. I mean, I was able to enjoy it now.
I was able to live with myself.

I feel good. :)

After walking around for an hour, I found that at least 10 shops are hiring. I think I will start to look for a job here.

When I returned home, I started to cook my dinner. I haven't cook rice for a long time ( Yes, I cooked before XD ). I added some vegetable and some ham and my dinner was ready... Well.... 60 marks... coz rice was a bit wet and the vegetable has rotten because the fridge is too cold.

For today lunch I made some fried rice with egg, ham and cron~ Well...I used 2 egg and it was too many, haha. But the taste was not bad, 70 marks la~ hoho~

During the night I talked with Sylvia, who arrived here since March, and she shared her experience with me.
She has worked for less than 6 months, and she has got enough budget for for to travel to all the place she wanna go, including New Zealand, and she was able to bring quite a lot of money back to HK. Well everyone, this cheer me up, haha . Mostly she worked in city and she said it's not easy to find a city job outside Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Thanks Sylvia for talking with me so long and give me so many information.

Today I visited another backpacker's blog. http://hk.myblog.yahoo.com/sheep-inOZ

After reading I found that I am still so passive, I am keeping everything away from myself. Got to have some changes. I will start to look for a job in Boxhill after my haircut.

And my plan has changed, I think I will stay in Melbourne and Sydney for a longer period, like 6-9 months, save some money, before I continue my journey. But changes always happen, so, just a roughly plan~

Hope everyone enjoy your Christmas!~ and Happy New Year!!!

Photo is HERE~

c : Thanks!

OiOi : Got it!~ I will try to cook this ~ hoho

3bee : Merry Christmas ah~

Hei-Ming : You come here is already my pleasure, why should I complain? haha~ Merry Christmas ~

wfred : ho mo liu -.- " Great site ! Sister! Thanks for that!! Yeah I bough Garlic salt too~ haha~ Martix DVD is with Uncle Ricky~

Raymond : Sir! Yes Sir! haha~ I love vegetable ~ Will do! Thanks~ :D

Settle down in BoxHill

First of all, I would like to say.... Your comment is the most powerful things to cheer me up... I just want to say... THANK YOU..!!

After moving to Aunt Joyce home, everything goes well.
The life in Oz are just a loop of "Stable -> Unstable -> Stable -> Unstable......"
Now it's stable, but after few weeks, life is gonna change again.

The internet cafe around cost me AUD4 per hour to get online, which is quite expensive for me (What I use before in Oz mostly cost nothing, so....).

2 days ago, I saw that there were something called Mobile Broadband, it is actually get online via HSDPA/3G/GRPS, that means if your mobile got signal, you can online, speed could vary on different location. Usually in HSDPA covered area, you'll get 600kbps to 1.4Mbps. For GRPS, the speed will reduce to around 64kbps (Correct me if I'm wrong) only.
After checking different vendor, price are real expensive. Monthly fee is around AUD50 per month with 2GB allowance, some of them doesn't include modem (AUD299 each), some of them require extra charges for GPRS, final bill may be around AUD80 per month. Wow, it's really out of my budget. I would rather go to the internet cafe or the library, or even add those credit into my pre-paid mobile for long-distance call. Well, it may be a very good excuse for me to use less.
So everyone, my blog would update less frequently and you won't see me on MSN that much.

House in BoxHill are really good to live. There are Safeway, Coles and Target around, just 5 min away. The mall has food court and market. I've eaten Sandwiches and fired rice with honey chicken these two days, taste very good!
Sat night, I cooked my own dinner, Tomato Beef Sausage Spaghetti. Relative easy to coke and taste OK. haha.. Give myself 65 marks.
Dad told me to try to make soup, not those canned soup but those using fresh food. He also asked me to try fried rice also.. Hmm... I'll need egg, rice, ham.... wow~ Start having fun. haha. Got any meal which is easy to cook~? Leave me a comment~ :D

Yesterday night I went to Wing's friend sharehouse to have dinner, his name is Man. He cooked very well, and we enjoy the time there. He has been living here for ten months, studying, and got his own car. He drove us to his sharehouse and back to our own place. Having a car is just so convenience in Oz.

These few days are really cold, may be because of the rain. Sat night feel like around 10C. I put on a short sleeve tee, a long sleeve Tee and a Columbia coat, and sleep inside my sleeping bag but I am still soooooo cold.... Hope the weather will get warm soon. The winter in Hong Kong is much warm then the summer in Oz.. doh...

Everything is fine, no worries. It's a good time for me to recharge myself and prepare for the restart.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!!

A little photos HERE~

PS:
Uncle Thomas: The tenement living in House 1 said that someone broke into House 2 two weeks ago, he said he will discuss more detail with you when you arrive.

PS2:

This is a paragraph of a letter to my lovely Mom, about my Braveness~ And I would like to share with all of you too.
###################################################
##################################################
Of course, the support from all of you are also extremely important and indispensable. Thank you :)

c : Thanks... Without you I may not able to make it~ :)

banana boy : Thanks!

May Goo je : Yes, I would never have this experience in HK. And need to Thanks Aunt Joyce and Uncle Thomas for the house to let me take a rest. Miss you and Love you all~!

Raymond : Thank Raymond! Your reply encouraged me a lot! I will treasure this opportunity!

oioi : Mike? Thanks for the info! and the cheering!!

mudfew : I can see that you grow up a lot already. You have your own point of view~ I feel happy about that~ :D I know that I haven't try hard, so I won't give up that easy, man. I'm already isolated from the gaming world, coz no bt here... haha... Ask your friends, they should have one. Can't wait to see you in Sydney, take care my cousin~

joejoe! : I feel much better now! Because of your support~ haha~ Thanks!

black : yeah positive thinking is what I gotta learn, thanks man!

Frist test, first tear.

Everyone, I am feeling much better now.

On Wednesday, I returned to city, and I moved into Elizabeth Hostel which is operated by a Chinese. Place are OK but the tenement are quite complicated. I was in a room with 2 UK and 1 Taiwan guy.
One of the UK guy, Kerry, was a strange guy... He doesn't talk much, he stay in the bed for 22 hours a day, watching his portable DVD, his left ear looks like bruise and feel like caused by sleeping too long, when he pass the reception, the receptionist ask for the rent. err... Not really safe to sleep with him in the same room, huh?
Another UK guy talk the same less, but he's more active. Never saw him in room except when he sleep. Feel like a lot normal than Kerry. The Taiwan guy are quite talkative, we use Mandarin to chat, haha. He was studying English in Brisbane and was in a holiday and will stay in Melbourne for 8 days. He is such a good man, we talk about my situation and he cheered me up! Really thanks him.

The next day I went to the library, search for some job and have a chat with friends online. I chat with Aki, WHV friend, and she shared her experience with me.
I hope she don't mind sharing with other~ :D

She's very kind. And I really appreciate her support.

Aunt Joyce talked with me through MSN. She said her house in Melbourne should able to let me stay for few weeks. I didn't say yes because I think I can get a share house and a job.

Around 6pm I returned to hostel, I walk inside my room, Kerry was watching his DVD. I get on to my bed, start reading dad's and mom's letter. When I read to the middle part of dad's letter, my tear was out of control, I haven't cried like this for so long and so bad. I don't know how to describe it. I finished my reading. I stopped crying. And my mood get better. I don't like crying, but now it works. I started to tidy up my mind, and start thinking why am I here.

I feel much better.

I called Aunt Joyce, and ask her if I could stay in her house. I wanted to stay there because during Christmas and New Year it's unlikely to get a job. I don't want to go too far because I would like to have the Holiday with my friends. So I decided to stay in Aunt Joyce house. Aunt Joyce gave me Uncle Leung's mobile and I made contact with him, and I moved in today. Really don't know how to express my thanks...... but saying THANK YOU!

Then I called Dad, he gave me some idea on what should I do, how to survive and how to think correctly. Thanks dad and love you!

I called Martin, he shared his Home Sick experience, thanks man!

I called John, but he's busy.

I called home~ Talk with Mom, Grandpa and Grandma. Miss everyone of you~

And I've a very good sleep last night.

I moved to Uncle Thomas' home today, and I have two weeks to restart and prepare myself for my coming trip.

I believe I've passed the test and I felt stronger. I hope I can go through the coming test. I cleared my mind and I start to think how to be independent, how to cook, and how to solve my upcoming problems.

I feel quite lucky, because so many of you are supporting me.

Thanks everyone.

My first job - Feel like having a dream.

Everyone, I'm back to the city. Yes, for only 2 days work. I got to return to city or else I'll get crazy.

Alright, let's begin the story.

On Sunday. I was supposed to get the 18:33 train and should arrive Sheppraton at 20:49.
5pm, I packed up my luggage, left the house in Gardiner and moved on to Melbourne Southern Cross Station. When I was on the way, I called Phill and told him that I am on the way. But he said that I'm gonna arrive too late because Sheppratton was not the final station, I'll need to get on another couch to a town named Cobram, which takes one more hour. He said it was too late for him because he got to wake up early on the other day. So I decided to stay in Melbourne for one night and take the first train on Monday. After settled down, I meet JoJo and Cat on Monday night, who arrived AU for 3 months and arrived Melbourne for few days. I stay in the same hostel with them which named Flinder Street Hostel (AUD 24 per night). Place are OK but I wont rather stay in other hostel. Wing show them the shop which could buy food at a lower price, and I bought some food for myself too. After that, Wing went home and the 2 ladies went to Casino. I bought myself a dinner and then returned to hostel.

Monday morning, after having breakfast with JoJo and Cat, I rushed to the train station and get on the train. Everything was still in schedule, it toke me 3 and a half hour to Cobram. I called Phill, he came to the station and pick me up. After buying some food in Safeway( one of the largest supermarket in AU), he drove me to the place I stay. And the nightmare begins. Let me try to describe the place. It's built with iron plate, like those place in New Territories which live some druggy. Place are very dirty, dried mud everywhere on the ground, lots of drawing inside the room, spider web on every corner. The kitchen was more terrible, spider web on the cook set!!! On that moment, I just couldn't believe I was there. During the night I could hardly sleep, start thinking about the reason I am there. I could be sleeping on my own bed, not really clean but at least a lot better. I could have Grandma cook every meal for me. Start thinking how stupid I am. Start thinking to return Hong Kong in the day after.

-----------------
I believe it was a test, for everyone who arrived Australia with WHV. After a period of time, staying in a place which is completely different from home, you'll start thinking what is all that about. Well, I read dad and mom's letter and I feel the answer.
I come here because I would like to experience the world, and to find out what is always around me but I had lose sight of them. I can now feel the support from my family, I can feel love and care, which has been ignored or may be just didn't feel it when I was in Hong Kong.
Sorry Mom and Dad, and I love ya~ :)
----------------

The first reason I wanna leave is because of dirty, the second reason is that I couldn't accept the sudden change of living environment. I don't have internet, I don't have phone, I need to cook myself and are not really eatable. I am still so dependent. I feel glad that I know more about myself and I don't believe it's a shame. I really need to start get used to it. And I definitely need to learn how to cook. +_+

On Tuesday morning, I woke up at 6am and start working. I work with 2 brothers and a guy named Dan, all of them are Australian and are full time fruit picker. There were a row of plum trees and you need to pick the plum by hand, put it into the bag in front of you, and fill it into a bin. You will need to climb up the ladder in order to pick those on the top of the trees. Check out the photo and you'll probably know the size of everything. It was a tough job but my body could handle it. I filled up 2 bin in the first morning and 1 bin after lunch, that's half row, all of them said it's quite good for the one who haven't fruit picking before. -.-v The 2 brothers filled up 7 bin in total, and Dan filled 3 bin, same suck as me. haha. There were some scratch on my hand but thats what every fruit picker do have.

And here comes the third reason I wanna left, it is about the salary. I had a little chat with Dan. I receive AUD28 when I filled up a bin but he, who come here by himself ( Not going through Phill), get AUD40. wtf? I guess there are some "Agency Fee" collected by Phill. Well......

After the day work I told Phill that I wanna quit, he had nothing to say for sure. And I told him I could finish the remain row of tree for him. The second night I feel much better, I woke up for 3 times only during the sleep at night. I start working on 5:30 am, and filled up 2 more bin, then I back to my place and get ready to leave. When I was packing my things, Phill told me about the salary calculation,
he usually deposit into the account, but first I worked too short and second it's not much money, so he paid me by cash. AUD140 !!!!!!!! My first salary!! Not much and not a good story but at least I earned something. He drop me off in the Cobram station and now I'm on the way back to Melbourne City.

Everyone who has supported me, not matter you have had dinner with me, just have a photo with me, or just saying good luck, I would like to say THANK YOU, you helped me to go through this difficulty, I feel myself recharged. It was just 2 days, like a dream, but I feel I have grown up, a bit. :D

It's now 19 Dec 2007 16:28, 2 hours to Melbourne. My next objective is to find a accommodation and stay until Christmas, and to look for some city's job, yes well, not really prepared for farm work. Wing has invited other friends to stay in Gardiner, so I'm not able to stay there any more.

And start from today, I am on my own. Time is getting harder and harder. I miss everyone of you, especially my family. Take care mate!

It's now 19 Dec 2007 20:35. I suddenly lost myself. I don't feel safe here in Australia. No idea why. May be as what I said, I'm too dependent. Got to back to my room and read dad's and mom's letter. And as what sister said on phone, find some friends and have a talk...
CHEERS UP ALAN!!!

Check out the photos here!

Move on to my first job.

After 1 week of retire life, I've started to get bored. yeah... so fast.

What I do everyday is... Wake up, drink milk (drunk 4L in 6 days), eat bread, watch House season 1, have lunch, wash dishes, watch House, play Simcity (Yes! Simcity 4 is able to run on my notebook!) , go shopping, return within 2 hours because the train ticket may expire, dinner, watch House, watch Hero, play Simcity, play skype with mom, bath and sleep.

It's time to have some changes.

Thanks Robert. He gave me a lot of detail last week about the farm job~ and most important a phone number.
Phill - 0401053564
WHVP in Melb can have a try~

This is a contact of a farm work agent ( I guess). Robert is now working there, he said the pay there aren't actually that good, around AUD100 per day, but other farm usually offer around AUD130 per day. Anyway, why don't just try it out first~?

The farm is near in Shepparton, 180km north of Melbourne, can go from Melbourne Southern Cross Station by V/Line. Remember to reserve the ticket by phone ( V/Line : 136196 ).
Phill will wait me at the train station and drive me to the farm. I am going to live in a farm house, no bed and sleep on floor~ It cost only AUD30 per week, compare with other dorm room with bed which cost ~AUD130 per week, it's a lot cheaper. I'm going there to pick pear or cherry may be, a tough job, but I hope I can start working ASAP.

That place is unlikely to have internet access, so I'm going to disappear for some time~ Everyone please take care and remember to check my blog regularly. haha~

It's now 4pm and gotta move~
Really need to thanks Wing, she cook every meal and they were delicious~! hoho~

And now, I'm on my own~ :)

Donal:yeah, you ask about Wing before me, thats hurt me.. :( haha~ j/king~ man my Ex-boss may come here so better talk that in MSN~ haha

c:Thanks very much for you support~ :)

wfred: Thats what I did in the last 10 min! haha~ and the Mango taste GREAT! XD

Mom and Dad: You know I don't really want myself in the photo~ But I'll try. :)
Wait me till I've my hair cut first~ haha
Remember to take care too! everyone of you~

Thanks Kitty!

Joyce: Yeah~ more and more fun coming~ :D

Banana Boy ~~: Will take care~ Thanks~~ You got my skype ID~?

3bee: Well.... will try... :)

Shopping days~

These two days, me and Wing has been shopping and visiting around~

On Sunday, we went to Prahan Market, The art center, Yarra River, Hamer Hall, Kmart @ Footscary, Coles @ Richmood, Federation Square and 2 shop located in Glenferrie which sold Chinese stuff.

The Prahan Market is not as large as I though, but things are quite richness. We got there late ( 12nn, yes, it's already late) , some shop has even closed. We bought some potatoes there, 1 dollar for a big bag, it's so cheap!

We then go to the city center by tram, and have visited The Art Center, Yarra River and the Hamer Hall. Well...The National Gallery of Victoria is really a great building, it is so spectacular~! Thanks Raymond for the suggestion, we've walk around the Yarra River and yeah, the Sunday market is still there~ The home-made product are great~ But unfortunately I cant bring them along with my trip.

After that, we went to the Footscary. We first have our lunch in a Vietnam restaurant. I ordered a chicken rice noodle (河粉), Wing ordered a beef rice noodle. This is the ONLY 2 options on the menu. +_+ Well, thats fine. It taste really good! But it cost nearly $9 each....It hurts....
We moved on to K-Mart and there I found my dream car! Front and rear suspension, 18 sections gear-box, cost only $89!!! But I really have no idea when will I use it, or even if I am going to use it, so I just take a photo and left. +_+
We have buy some snack in Kmart and move on to Richmood.

In Richmood, we tried to find some Chinese shop but we failed, the Lonely Planet said there were quite a lot of them! Well anyway, we bought some commodity over there, including 3L of mike and a bottle of Jam~! Yeah~ and I'm enjoying them every morning~ haha.

The milk and the other stuff are so heavy so we decided to unload some stuff back home before we move on.
We then arrived Glenferrie and buy some noddle in the Chinese shop. And here comes the story, we left at around 8:30 and we found that the train is mush scattered. 30min for a train, WTF? We need to change to other line before we can arrive home. My God! But we don't have other choice so we gotta wait.

After like 20 min the train finally arrive, we traveled to Burnley station and wait for another train back home. We need to wait for 24 min for the train. Fine. But after we have been waiting for 10 min, DING, there was an announcement saying that the next train has been canceled, and the next train depart will be... 51 min later!! yes!! 51 min!!! It's cold, feel like 12 C,we don't have enough clothes, we've nothing to eat, it has no where to stay clear of the wind inside the station... That was the hardest time since I arrive Australia. And finally home, 11:00pm, yes and we started to go home on 8:30pm.
And Mom, that's the reason why I'm eating when I was talking to you in Skype at nearly 12am.

The day after, we dated another WHV friend, Aki and Ring. We went to Springvale market, and this time we become smart, we left as early as possible to avoid things happened on Sunday.
The goods selling in Springvale is so cheap, we bought a large bag of Mango for $2 only! (check the photo to see how many are there). We gotta eat at least 2 a day. Sister, feel jealous? haha~ joking.

Today, finally got my bank account ready. These few days just like having a retired life. haha.
oh shit... Gotta start finding a job! Alright, let's start tomorrow! ( I said that 5 days ago.)

Everyone, please check out the photos HERE.

c : Thanks for that~

Raymond : Thanks for the suggestion~!

wfred : Take a look on the Mango's photo again~ haha~

James : Take a look on the top left corner of my blog, I've added a little googles map which pointed out my living place.
